Mountain - Mississippi Queen

The Doors - Light My Fire

I just thought of Mississippi Queen; but, now I am thinking about the Vanishing Point, Barry Newman and the white Dodge Challenger RT.

BUT... The quintessential Most Recognizable Bass Line of all is (wait)...

Santana "Soul Sacrifice",

I used to love playing this on my P Bass. Later, I used the Epiphone Rivoli because of the deep lows I could get from it.

yeah Edlo - that one drives our bass player nuts - especially in extended freeform 10 minute jam versions! [biggrin]

I hear you back in the day I was the bass player before I switched to rhythm and it drove me nuts as well. Good times.

I can be in a loud bar and can pick-out a song simply from the bass line's obscure vibrations coming from above the din of the crowd. So, all bass lines are recognizable if you've got the ear for it. [wink]

But to address the main gist of the thread:

"Dazed and Confused" - Led Zeppelin

"Come Together" - The Beatles

"Sunshine Of Your Love" - Cream

"Back In Saddle" - Aerosmith

"Roundabout" - Yes

"Mystery Achievement" - Pretenders

… to name a few.
