BluesKing777
I was talking about how nice my 2010 Gibson J45 was sounding, so here are a couple of instrumental demo tracks I just did....Shure SM57 to mixer to iMac.... BluesKing777
Thanks for those replies! I just listened on my iPad - there isn't much left of the big fat Gibson J45 sound I had on my original files in the IMac - that's the way of the net.... BluesKing777. BluesKing777
Hey, some pretty tricky pickin' there BK Thanks Fumbles! I did a bit of fumblefinglerling myself on the Chet track, but I am only human and Chet, well.... I thought about the way the tracks turned out since putting them up on the Soundcloud - the blues track I just hit record and started playing something and it went pretty smooth, though I may have sped up a tinklewith..... but the Chet track is a 'set piece' that I have played way better other times, but when I hit record,I kept thinking of a couple of the real hard bits, which I played ok then fluffed a few easy bits. That's life! Onwards and outwards. BluesKing777.

BluesKing777
Oh it doesn't matter. Your Chet thing is awesome.... Thanks Hojo.... I am finding that I like the Shure SM57 mic on my LG3, Blues King and smaller guitars, but the best is on a National Tricone - perfect for the Shure 57...simple sound, I suppose. I am not having as much love with a more complex sounding guitar like my J45 or my OM18v - the 57 is ok but misses the nice bits! I have a few Rode tube mics but get too much bass on the J45...so I am thinking about a Neumann KM184 like Big Tony uses on the Music Villa demos... https://www.neumann.com/?lang=en&id=current_microphones&cid=km180_description BluesKing777. Working Mans Blue
Wow very flattering photos. The J45 in sunburst is the best looking guitar there is bar none in my eyes
BluesKing777
Wow very flattering photos. The J45 in sunburst is the best looking guitar there is bar none in my eyes Thanks WMB. The reflections in the photos are off an outside roof, making the finish look really old. As you can see, the J45 is still in original spec. I always intended to change plastics to bone and maybe tuners to something else, but it is sounding so good that I have not wanted to ruin it...whatever 'it' is! I have a number of older Gibsons with the 3 in a row tuners and some are not as good as the Rotos..... BluesKing777.
