I need help mapping to mix.

Recommended Posts

for the most part mixxx is easy to map, i can do all the buttons and knobs and sliders, and one user claims to have even gotten the LEDs to work, but i need help with the platters.

I click on the virtual platter, and nothing comes up, doesn't let me map it to the platter.

i don't know where else to possibly click to map the platters from the SCS.4DJ, to the platters on the Mixxx interface.

anyone got any ideas?? a mapper file they made?? or know where to go abouts doing it?? it even looks like i might have to script it java if i can't figure out how to do it by clicking, and that's gonna be killer hard to do, especially since i quit doing java over 10YEARS ago(I HATE SLOW @$$ JAVA!!!!)

if anyone has gotten this to work your help would be greatly appreciated!!!! [cursing]

i want to delete this post, cuz i didn't type the title right, and i don't think people will understand the question.

Platters are indeed via script (js file), same goes for LED's. I'm also looking into this but have little time this week... I will look closer this week-end.

awesome i'll post back here if i get it done. looks like it's gonna be a little complex. gonna use midi trace and snag some codes, then figure out the syntax for this script. when else fails go manual. 8/

Hi,

You can start using this and tweak. I've been using this controller map quite succesful. It has been a while, but I've done somethings with LED, and also mapped things like snap, hide/show disk, keylock on/off. Also looping is mapped. Also did tweaking with the platters. Just let me know how this works for you.

Cheers.

i'll try it out tonight. i been pretty busy, then got sick right after SXSW, been having migraine issues, so music has been off the palette for a few days. let me get down it. i found it pretty easy to map mixxx, until it got to the platters.

i'm liking it so far. the other buttons i'm not so worried about. i can map my buttons the way i like and effects etc....first thing i went after was the platters, and you pretty much nailed it. my only question is where's the line / var to adjust the sensitivity?? it's a little fast, and i'd like to reduce the sensitivity just a bit. mostly to match the feel of the SCS.4DJ or a little slower.

if you take a 140BPM track, and give the platter a half turn, on the SCS.4DJ it will pull you back or forward about 1.5BEATS, if i'm using virtual DJ i make it just a little slower than that. in mixxx, im getting 2FULL beats with a half turn of the platter. that's a little to fast for me, and faster than the SCS.4DJ's native platter functionality.

other than that. good job dude. the platter is responsive, i'll show you my button mappings after i remap the fx panels, loop buttons, etc. gonna have some serious fun now that you got me platters. i suggest anyone who's using mix to download this script and get your platters working.

once i get back to working on it, i'll see if i can find all the LED codes, so we can get the VU's, and the rest of the buttons working.

thanks again.

Hey guys, I ran across this thread and am looking to use mixxx as well. I was wondering how this project was progressing and if there was any other work or testing that I could help with.
