capmaster Posted March 28, 2014 Share Posted March 28, 2014 Searching for the strings I use on my Fender '65 Mustang Bass RI, I couldn't find them anymore on either the retailer's and Fender's website. Then I checked for the instrument and the case and wasn't able to find the latter, too. There don't seem to be any substitutes anywhere. On all the strings of different brands I checked, the wound is tapering at the first fret due to the length needed for stringing through the body. There also is no matching case supplied by any third party manufacturer. One of my pupils is tearing his hair out over this at the moment but he has no option better than some sort of fancy gig bag. As for strings - have you tried this site?
