E-minor7 Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 It's a beautiful alternative to the normal contemporary 45-bursts and leans toward the TV Bird. That counts for back'n'sides too. I'd love to see/hear ones of these mojoed, willing and able. .
onewilyfool Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 AM I going to have to add ANOTHER J-45 to the list???
Hogeye Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 This whole thing is silly. I thought Gibson finally made a Maple J-45. Wrong. They just called the finish Maple Burst. Which it isn't. In the interview with Robi Johns he said they named it thinking of our neighbor to the North. The maple Gibson uses doesn't come from Canada and they don't have Maple trees in Montana. I never saw a bottle of Maple Syrup that color. That is just about the silliest name for that color I can imagine. They should have called it tomato soup. That's what it looks like. If anyone wants to play one just get a regular J-45 as that's all this is. Is there such a thing as a regular J-45???

The all new Gibson Tomato Soup J-45! ...I think I like it! Why, this could start a whole new trend! We could even see the Gibson Tomato Soup Custom! or the Gibson Maple Syrup J-45 Custom! Heck, even a Gibson Montana Maple Tree J-45! Well...it IS possible isn't it?
JuanCarlosVejar Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 It was a limited edition in Canada . So even if it doesn't exactly resemble maple syrup or use canadian maple They could still call it maple burst because it was presented as a ltd canadian edition. JC
Cougar Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 ...was wondering if we have owner of maple burst here on the forum! I settled for Epiphone's solid maple back and sides EF-500PNS Masterbilt, "a few" of which were only produced in 2003. :)
Red 333 Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 This whole thing is silly. I thought Gibson finally made a Maple J-45. Wrong. I'm pretty sure they made some maple J-45s 2006-ish. Currently, Sweetwater has this one in trans-brown: Maple J-45 at Sweetwater Wildwood has them in trans-red: Maple J-45 at Wildwood I would love to see a reissue of a Banner-era maple J-45, myself. Trans Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 Yes it is made for north of the border Canada. A Custom Shop stripped down no bling workman's guitar.
