kwf Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Hi. Recently purchased a gibson 95 blues king electro and was very dissapointed with the original accuvoice electronics. Sound is very cheap and tinny...tried tweaking it with no success. The guitar itself has an amazing tone is probably best utilized for studio use with a condenser mic to capture its sound. Since I play live more that studio use, does any one have suggestions as to what electronics I should use to replace the accuvoice set up?

I'm wondering the same thing about the AccuVoice. There is shockingly little info online about this preamp system. Did you ever change it out? What did you use?

There is shockingly little info online about this preamp system. Did you ever change it out? What did you use? I had a Chicago 35 by Gibson in the past.....I can't find the instructions anymore. But I do remember...The 9V battery button has to be turned off when not in use, or else the battery power will be lost quickly. I just got a Gibson Gospel 110th Anniversary with Accuvoice....it had a lot of background noise...I went to a XLR cable (female to XLR) and the system now works very well. Don't forget the buttons pop out to set them , then push in to get them out of the way in use. Dr John
