CtrlAltElite Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Is it me, or are the prices on used Gibson's low? Today I saw a 2008 LP standard in Root Beer go for $1500. I bid on it to $1450 but thought maybe something was wrong for it to be so low. So I started to look at others and same thing or at least similar. Not really in the market for another LP but the used prices are making it hard bot to buy one.

I just recently bought a '96 Wine Red LP standard from a fellow player for $1300. It does have a few minor dings from being played, but it was the exact color I wanted and I've seen worse going for more :-/
rct Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 You mean to tell me that the investment and resale values of these guitars is not spiraling ever heavenward???? [scared] rct
quapman Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 People can ask what ever they want for them. What they get is actually what they are worth, not what they're asking. It's not hard to predict the outcome of the ads around here. I can tell pretty quick which ones are going to sit for sale and which ones won't last. And when looking on ebay,, always filter your search for "sold" items if you want to find out what they are worth. I see idiots asking new prices for 10 year old guitars all the time. They are the ones that sit forever.
