Just saw this 68 J45. I tried to find square shoulder 68's on Google and couldn't see the rosette , truss rod cover on any instances of images. Do you think this is a 69/70 Norlin starting point with zany parts? It does look to be a 1 9/16th" nut, just by looks. BTW: I bought a 1999 Rosewood J45 on eBay for 1,400..... and it is even better than expected! Harmonics ring out on all frets. Loud and lush. Lucked out is understatement. I am maybe going to replace the piezo strip and put in an Infinity Matrix.....
Working Mans Blue Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Yea I wouldn't even pay the starting bid price for that. It looks like it's also had a headstock break. But I'm not a fan of 60s, especially late 60s gibson acoustics, at all. They're a whole different animal than todays. Some like them, not me

modoc_333 Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 there are SO many issues here. the broken neck, maybe broken headstock, bridge lifting, HUGE bridge, that pickguard, it being a late 60s, early 70s.... that price is insane for this guitar. Just because it's an old Gibson doesn't mean anything. sure, we when we think of $200 or $300 we think of cheap chinese guitars... but this one really should be priced under $500.
