moparguy Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 I bought a new American Telecaster on Monday 3/31/14, on Tuesday I got an e-mail from Guitar Center saying that they were giving out gift cards up to $100.00 when you buy a Fender guitar. I contacted the customer service by phone to see if they would give me the gift card. I told the lady that if I would have known that they were having the gift card promo, I would have waited until the 1rst to buy the guitar. She told me it was up to the store I got it from as to whether they would honor it. She called them on my behalf ( I didn't ask her to ) and the store manager ( Trey Sills ) said he would honor it and give me the card. I went to pick up the card and he said since the purchase was before the promo, he couldn't give me the Fender gift card, but he gave me 10 Guitar Center gift cards for $10.00 each instead. I am one happy camper right now. If your ever in College Station, Texas, you should stop by this store, they have a great crew working there. Here are a few more pics after it has been waxed and restrung. All in all, with the gift cards included they gave me $253.11 off the tag price. is that a micro tilt adjustment hole in the neck plate?
rct Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 It is indeed the re-birthed tiltOwhirl thingy. Got a bad rep back then because most of us thought they thought it was easier than making accurate well fit necks and pockets for them to go into. I never needed mine tilted on any of mine in the 70s. rct
moparguy Posted April 5, 2014 Author Posted April 5, 2014 Thanks for the confirmation, I don't have any experience with them, my Strat has this also
capmaster Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Nice guitar and cool deal - congrats, HNGD! Pretty graining and a beautiful burst, looks fine. Love the maple neck, too. As for the deal, similar things happened to me twice when buying one respectively two days early at Thomann. After talking to the guitar department manager, he found a way to grant me the discount in both cases. :) Never needed the neck tilt adjustment screw of any Fender. I just tightened it sufficiently to keep it in place. B)
