cjmwrx Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 I picked this up 3 weeks ago used. I just got it back today. The price was good, so I spent a few more ducks to have it re-fretted (the way I prefer it, I know a lot of you like your binding nibs, I do not). Also had the fretboard leveled to take a hump out of the neck. Plays and sounds fantastic. Third Coast Guitars did the work. Their prices are a bit high, but, the quality of work speaks for itself. Also had a bone nut installed. I was going to have them compound the radius on the neck, but, I did not want to buy a new bridge to compensate. The guitar, with re-fret and bone nut came out to around 1700.00 total, so not a bad pickup IMHO. Case had all candy, and, it's the older style case with the leather handle and combination lock. I also changed all of the plastics to black, and added Gibson Chrome Covers on the PUPs. BB3 bridge (my personal favorite), 57 Classic neck. Also, changed the knobs to chrome top hats. BONUS! It came with Bumble Bees when I bought it.
cjmwrx Posted April 6, 2014 Author Posted April 6, 2014 Yeah, from the 9th fret to the 14th fret on the bass side only.
BigKahune Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 . Nice mods and the black plastic - cool look. Interesting choice with the refret. Congrats. . B) ,
duane v Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 I really dig the cream binding with the black.... Sweet axe!!!
cjmwrx Posted April 7, 2014 Author Posted April 7, 2014 Thanks guys! I am really happy with the work from Third Coast. I haven't had a chance to rip it through my Mesa stack, as I am stuck at my moms dog sitting and playing through my Fender Champ. But, so far, I am really diggin' it!
