SemiHBodySG93 Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Hey guys I am new to the forum I was looking on Ebay the other day and came across this for me it almost seems too good to be true what do you guys think? thanks! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Epiphone-ES-335-PRO-w-Real-Bigsby-Gibson-P-Ups-/271442485131?pt=Guitar&hash=item3f333b9f8b
PeteWilson Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Welcome to the forum! I bought my ES-335 PRO as a condition 1 instrument from Musicians Friend, and paid less than the price for this one. I could find no evidence that mine had ever been played. Of course, mine does not have Gibson pickups nor the Bigsby. I have several guitars with Bigsby on them, and I rarely use it. I have been happy with the pickups on mine, and have not felt the need to change them. I am very happy with mine. YMMV. Pete
Gunner Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 I agree it looks like the Bigsby was put on by someone who didn't know what they were doing. I don't care for the glaring holes left by the original stop tail either. When you say it looks too good to be true are you referring the price? Keep in mind that it is an auction (still a couple of hours left as of typing this e-mail and people often wait to the last second to bid).
Cyphre Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 I'd take caution with such an item. I'm kinda diggin that satin look, though.
Scott Marlowe Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 The bigsby at an odd angle sets off warning bells of shoddy workmanship for me. I'd pass on it.
Thomse Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 I think of it as junk. looks like it was painted with a spray bomb and the whammy bar . . Yes i would buy it of fire wood . $25 bucks .
