I don't care if he's using an Airline '59 1P, a custom triple jet made by Randy Parsons out of Ventura, or a Fender Telecaster—have mercy, he could probably pull it off with just a 2x4 with a pickup wired in it—Jack White plays the hell out of this song.

Check out any of the clips on youtube and you'll see what I mean.

I've been a fan of those Airline '59's since I saw footage of JB Hutto playin' 'em!

I'd like a 1P myself for a slide axe.

Jack as some great stuff and some way over-hyped stuff! But he is a showman and performer at heart!

I think there's some over-the-top showmanship in him and he gets it in that sense. Like Buddy Guy steals the show no matter where he is or who he's with, I think Jack does much the same...

Although I must say he was very humbled and reverent when he was included in the "It Might Get Loud" TV special/documentary with Edge in an intimate sit down and play session with Jimmy Page.

Check 'em out on YouTube...

He also has a great reverence for Blues and Blues originators so I kinda like him!

He's way out there for me in general, but I think we have alot of common ground and I'll always check out what he's up to for myself...

I find alot of his stuff very piquant and I will say; cutting-edge! Of what I'm not certain, put he's pushing the envelope somewhere for sure!

He's worth checking-out without a doubt!

I like jack white when he was with the stripes and the raconteurs, just not with the dead weather. The documentary he did with the edge and jimmy page was extremely interesting too msp_thumbup.gif

have to say, just not getting this guy.. sorry boys,, not for me.

Trust me, I can understand that!

I was really put off by him at first. I did some reasearch and found he does truly have some real reverence and respect for the Blues originators, even if it doesn't come across in his original music...

You have to go thru alot of way out there stuff that is hard to understand the point of, but you can find some real honest primal music there if you keep looking and some of it even sounds catchy melodically in comparison to some of his off-the-wall noise...

He's not really my thing either, but I will say he does Blues roots in what he puts-out...

His music is heavy in guitar riffing if not actually put together as a sentient song in a traditional sense...

While I certainly wouldn't gush over him for myself, I do like his creative riff work...

He does that signature squealing/stuttering stuff I don't like so much, but his riffs are really strong!

he's out there, that's for sure..

and that's not a BAD thing for music.. We do need the "next" visionaries I guess.

the old codger that I am, meh, just can't warm up to it.

I think hes awesome...

LOVE some of the White Stripes stuff and most of the Raconteurs (which is the most normal of his bands as such).. Its like really hit and miss for me... The stuff of his I do like I LOVE but some of it just seems like doing something different just to be as different as possible... Which I understand but don't want to listen too...

His live stuff I find REALLY hard to listen too.. It is RAW, to the point where a fair amount of it just sounds like a noise...

BUT I think hes one of the hardest working men in music, hes had 3 bands on the go at one point, all quite successful, has his own record company and mentors younger talent coming into the industry AND he saved a whole load of oldschool blues music from disappearing all together by re-releasing it... I mean common, even if you hate his music, you gotta respect that.

I thought this was kind of amusing too :)

Thats exactly what I find, and for that reason I love the black keys
