Fullmental Alpinist Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Musician's Friend has dropped the price on the John Hiatt J-45 to $1999. Street price was around $3500. It is supposed to be a limited production (100 guitars) J-45 with Fishman Ellipse Matrix Blend onboard electronics, a V neck, and a tiger strip pick guard. John Hiatt J-45 Gibson's Specs I have no affiliation with the seller. FMA
onewilyfool Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 I predicted this when they first came out…….not a bad price now!!

I wish they'd come up with something new instead of renaming models that are primarily the same.
62burst Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 That is a great price for a John Hiatt J-45. We were discussing the JH a while back on the topic of contemporary J-45's with heftier neck profiles. John specified his to be spec'd with a more chunky profile. I was following the eBay listing for this guitar a month or so ago, but the listing was pulled. I think it had a starting price in the upper teens. Not at computer to easily access any more info. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bsu49-orZss edit: at 'puter now, but unable to find the previous Musician's Friend listing that was pulled. Here, a recent "prototype":
62burst Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Edit II : Gone! Good for whoever got it. They are indeed scarce. Hoping to soon read a review on these pages. Just remember : P.O.I.D.H.
Fullmental Alpinist Posted April 11, 2014 Author Posted April 11, 2014 Wow. That was fast. Shoulda bought it. All I needed was the money. FMA
mking Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 I played one at Wildwood Guitars in Colorado right after they came out: didn't sound to good. Then I grabbed a Brad Paisley hanging next to it and thought AHHH that is THE sound. I'm sticking with my 2007 TV.
