Dub-T-123 Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 I picked this up on the way home from work today :) I called in the morning and had the tech (great tech) do a setup for me before I picked it up It stays in tune perfectly and sounds so good! The sound and feeling of it are inspiring
NHTom Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Love those........the binding on them is way cool. NHTom
Riffster Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Cool guitar, congrats. A friend bought one but sold it because he could not bond with the neck.
Dub-T-123 Posted April 12, 2014 Author Posted April 12, 2014 Cool guitar, congrats. A friend bought one but sold it because he could not bond with the neck. Thanks guys! The neck on this is actually a big part of what sold me on it. As soon as I picked it up it felt really comfortable, a lot like my SG. The 660 has a wider fretboard than most other Rics (which are usually extra narrow). The frets are smaller than the ones on my Tele or SG so that might be what turns some people off
rocketman Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 That has got to be one of the sweetest looking Rics I have ever seen. Congrats!
jdgm Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Very nice too... I'd like one of those...and the 12-string...and the Lennon one..... so many guitars, so little time!
Bender 4 Life Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 always loved the "Retro Vibe" Rikkis give off !! that's a NICE one.........
BigKahune Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 . Love the Rics. 660 - very cool. Looks great in natural Congrats. . B) .
Kaiser Bill Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Outstanding...I hope it brings you years and years of trouble free playing.
Dub-T-123 Posted April 13, 2014 Author Posted April 13, 2014 Thanks guys! I'm going to try to take some better pics for you, I can't really record a good quality clip though I'm really enjoying this guitar. Something as simple as striking out an open D chord sounds beautiful with this guitar. It's very resonant and clear sounding
capmaster Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Congrats, Dub, on your new purchase, HNGD! Glad you're fine with the tone. And your Ric is a nice looker, too...
Mr. Natural Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 A Ric and a Vox; a perfect pair. I love that finish. Good score.
Dub-T-123 Posted April 14, 2014 Author Posted April 14, 2014 Anything is good with a Vox! Thanks the Ric sounds incredible through a Fender as well
Brytam Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Great guitar! Always liked the checkerboard binding. Nice finish. I play a Rick 620 Fireglo, same design. I love the feel, the playability & the slimness of the guitar. That 5th tone knob will really come in handy for tweaking your tone! Ricks are well designed & well made! ...Enjoy!
Dub-T-123 Posted April 27, 2014 Author Posted April 27, 2014 Gotta check in and say that this guitar is amazing! I've been so into playing it I've been learning lots of new music and getting better at guitar. The low frets seem to have improved my technique a bit because you have to be a little more precise to get a good sound Every time I pick this guitar up I'm blown away. You guys should all get one
EVOL! Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 She's a beauty. Please post some sound samples once you make them.
krock Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Sweeet. This may seem a silly question but what does the 5th knob do? I've only ever played rick bass'
Dub-T-123 Posted April 28, 2014 Author Posted April 28, 2014 She's a beauty. Please post some sound samples once you make them. Sure thing, dunno when that will be, but I'm going to build a little mic for my iPhone that can handle high SPL without clipping so maybe pretty soon I got a Rode NT1 and NT1A but no interface or computer Cookieman - thanks bud I'm already really enjoying it. Might need a 360/12 in the future :P
