I used to have a copy of this song on cassette from 1983 or 84 where Lynch plays a guitar solo intro with (if I remember correctly) some amazing diminished scale runs.

I bet you had this version. It's my favorite but that 82 video is the oldest I've seen and I was shocked to see Don Dokken ripping up part of the solo.

I was surprised that Jeff Pilsen was not the bass player, that looks like Juan from Ratt (he is such a little *****)

Juan was the bass player for Ratt and Dokken at the same time. When Ratt finally hit it big he left Dokken to play with Ratt full time. That's when they brought in Jeff.
