Epiphone Casino Elitist vs Casino Inspired By John Lennon

The Elitist uses the best quality materials and electronics, and the craftsmanship and quality control on the Elitists are top notch, which is why the Elitists have a higher price tag.

However, many players are completely happy with the Inspired By JL models, as they represent a very good value for the money, and are also very well-made.

The Elitist would be a better guitar that the Inspired By but then again,if you were able to find an original limited edition 1965 or Revolution John Lennon Casino, you would have an instrument that bettered both of them.I have a 1965 John Lennon that I bought in 2009 and it was one of the first 50 made,it is the most incredible guitar of the 33 that I own.The '65 is absolutely flawless and the tone and playability is unbeatable,it's just an exemplary instrument in every way.

I don't know about the Elitist or the JL, but I played a regular ole' Casino in a store today and If only I can go a month without buying groceries I might be all set [drool] . It was an absolute ball to play and I found the sounds it made fit my playing style really well. The higher end models must be pretty awesome!

@ Sleeko-Oh Ye of little faith...lol.I have posted pix of my guitars in this forum several times under the heading Bonzoboys guitar family if memory serves me correctly-I have added several guitars to my Guitarsenal since these pix were taken-as many as 7 or 8 plus several amps as well.Long time forum members and members who know me from Facebook and other music forums can certainly attest to the current count of my little family.I am notoriously known for having paltry computer skills and have to enlist the help of one of my buddies to post my pix of gear etc. as I don't even know how to get into my photo files to be able to post them.

BTW: Like Chris Browne,I was impressed by the regular Casino. My first Casino was a natural finish Made in Indonesia Casino,I had seen it in my usual Mom and Pop music store and being a Beatles fanatic I had to have it,as I was walking out to the cash I saw a John Lennon EJ-160-E and I picked that up as well. When I finally got to the cash,my buddy, the store's owner had the latest Epi catalogue and he was checking out the John Lennon Limited Edition Casinos,I ordered and paid for a 1965 on the spot-the 3 guitars put quite a dent into my retirement fund and caused a couple of week's silent treatment from the missus-it's not all bad...lol. The regular MIC,MIK and MII Casinos are great guitars too and have the unmistakable Casino P-90 pickups sparkle. I have played my lower priced Casino through my AC-15 and through my AD-120-VTH with the 412 BN Vox cabinet and set on AC-30 and it really has the authentic Beatles vibe but of course not as clear and pronounced as the John Lennon model.I would have no problem recommending the basic model Casino to anyone who was looking for a Casino at a lower price because they are still far better than many other guitars in their price range.
