post-64945-004047400 1398287321_thumb.jpgLongtime lurker first time poster. Just picked up this 2013 IBJL Casino. Lovin it through an old Blues Jr. P90's rock n roll but seems incredibly versatile. Great lookin guitar but some weird grain on upper left bout in certain light. ill call it a beauty mark. Even sounds pretty good acoustically. I tried it with an old Rat pedal and it sounded monsterous!

I'm such a Beatle/Lennon freak surprised it took me this long. Listening to Dear Prudence as I type which I think is Johns Casino. Impressive guitar very different from my 52 RI Tele . I had started to dig into the Beatles sounds and many of the tones I loved like the solo on Taxman, Paperback etc... was the P90 Casino

I like how the grain looks in that pic! I don't know if it captures the weird grain you mention but looks good from here.

But I'm a monster Casino fan, so maybe I'm biased.

Don't worry about how it looks. You're obviously a John fan and know that John had his Casino stripped and sanded. After that, you think his looked perfect?

And you are right, the guitar is extremely versatile. Can do rock, jazz, rockabilly, blues, can even funk out on it. Once you get past the initial joy of playing Beatle licks you'll see the guitar can do just about anything you want. Enjoy it.

Grain comment was regarding on knot on upper left, sometimes can't tell and sometimes looks lighter or darker depending on light. Never noticed it quite like that on any Casino I looked at on the internet. I probably saw most as I agonized over which casino the Lennon or Elitist. Ultimately went with Lennon. Some of decision was cost and I figured from everything I read on this awesome forum that the great advantage of the Elitist was unplugged. Also love the look of the inspired by natural. Been away from Gibson/ Epi for a long time, since I had to hock my Gibson silverburst Les Paul 20 years ago. Hard to replace that one which cost me around 800 new. If I walked in the door with that I how my better half would react! Same thing regarding my 64 Jazzmaster, Rick 330, 52 RI tele, Jeff Beck Strat, Marshall Silver Jubilee.... Painful stuff ... But slowly replacing collection.

First off, welcome to the forum, and congrats on a great guitar. Casino's rule! [thumbup]

I noticed the "blem" in the original photo, probably because there'something similar about the size of a nickel, on the back of my Natural Dot. I'm the only one who knows it's there, and I'm guessing that unless you point it out, only about 1 in 20 people would even notice (and they'd probably be guitar players LOL).

Again, congrats and enjoy. I love mine.

Think your right, very few will notice. Doesn't bother me all that much. Some like guitars like that they call it character. Only can see it in certain light kinda like runout on acoustic. Sounds awesome, was really surprised how versatile , mellow jazzy to over the top Rock and everything in between.
