Hey I have recently acquired an '03 Gibson les paul jr melody maker in tv yellow. I'm trying to find some info out about them and I'm not finding much on it. It has the single dog eared p-90 and factory pickguard. Any info on this will be awesome. I traded a prs se custom 24 for it.

Nice Axe!!!

What information are you looking for? Ask some specific questions and you'll get answers...

I'm not up on all the spec & history, but several in here are. Just be sure to ask specific questions like the how many made question...

I don't know the answer myself, but I have an Limited Edition Les Paul and they made approx. 275 per color, so 275 seems to be a common number for limited edition guitars...

Everything I'm reading is saying they only made 250 of these. Is this correct?

The other thing you can do is to email Gibson Customer service with pictures and a serial number.. They would want to see close ups of the headstock back and front. They are usually pretty good at getting back to you.

Worth an email :)

The serial number is 02983631, so I take it that its an 03 made on the 298th day of the year but I do not know what the other 3 number are trying to tell me

the 631 means it was the 631st guitar built that day.....not necessarily the same model or anything, just the number off the line

I like the little guitar, I would go as far as saying I like it more than the lpj pro I have. The weight of the guitar is amazing and the sound of the single p90 is pretty aggressive I think, compared to the 498t and 498r I have in the lpj pro. Can't really compare it to the zakk wylde tho.

Thinking of selling and getting an acoustic gibby, what should my price be, I mean I traded the prs se custom 24 and I see them used for 600 to 400 but I am not seeing many of these 03 melody makers up for sale.
