Riffster Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 I am going to see them live on Monday. They are a strange band, they have hard rock, thrash metal and other genres all combined, I am not sure I would compare them to Green Day overall though. For instance this is the song that follows Heaven nor Hell in the album, straight up thrash metal except for the chorus. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fwpnlGPCl3c To me they are one of the likeable radio hard rock bands right now... I warm up to Heaven nor Hell quiet often, that song gets me going I even keep my V tuned down a full step.

They just kind of remind me of them because their songs are mostly rhythm guitar and very little guitar solos and when there is a solo it's mostly a melody line. Plus their songs are very melodic and almost pop-like for the genres they play.
krock Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 I listened to Lola Montez and Cape of Our Hero in one of my playlists earlier. Great band
Inupiat Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Volbeats awesome! Sad Man's Tongue is probably one of my all time favorite songs
Jimi Mac Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 I've got friends that Rave about them... Their thrash-metal side puts me off simply because it's not my thing. But I see a certain quality to them that gives me pause and makes me wonder more about them than most other bands... I like their choice of axes! They are their own thing for sure and God bless that pioneering spirit! I think we all should be true to our own-selves rather than conform to what others say anyway... That personal honesty is really important in music! I can't knock 'em, and they're certainly more successful than I'll ever be! God Bless 'em...
