Guest Farnsbarns Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 After 20 odd years of owning multiple guitars I finally bought 5 wall hangers. I'm very impressed with these, they're Hercules HA101's. Each one comes with a lock, I'm sure a thief would either get past it or destroy the guitar(s) trying but they will prevent unwanted playing by other people. I've just marked up the wall but having just moved I can't find a drill. Must be somewhere and I'll defo get them up today, pics when the search has ended.
Guest Farnsbarns Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 Too easy... These won't be the 5 that go up, just the ones that were at hand. Weirdly, in my photo they all look pissed (off straight) but that is something to do with the camera in my phone, the wall on the left looks pissed too.
duane v Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 Be careful with the one on the left..... It appears the headstock is close to the ceiling..... Lift up gently

Lift up gently Yes, the boat paddle epi Sheraton headstock. Eventually I'll put one with a short headstock up there. That room has a very low ceiling which is why it was chosen as the music room. The slant in that corner is because of the eves.
Dennis G Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 I decided a year or so ago that I needed some more floor space, but was hesitant to use wall hangars because I live in earthquake country. Finally decided to put the less expensive solid body's on the wall, and leave the hollows and semi's in the floor rack. I used these: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/accessories/hercules-stands-wallmount-guitar-hanger They "lock" the guitar in and I was sitting here during a recent e'quake and these things never moved!

That's exactly the ones only mine came with a thing that locks over the end pieces to so that the guitar can't be removed even after lifting it and requires a special key to undo it.

I had a look at the key on google, its a type I'm not accustomed to seeing. Is there anything to stop something like 2 regular keys being wedged in to unlock it or maybe even just using nails?

I'm sure it wouldn't take long to find something that would turn it. Not a security device but would stop a cheeky friend or child getting the guitar down.

Just looked at your link again. At last, something that's cheaper in the UK. I paid under £60 for all 5, delivered to my door.
