flatbaroque Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Wrote a new song today. Here it is. On J-45. Rocket away you darkest stars light years lost behind these bars To Rio Conception we’ll go two by two You’ll love me and I’ll love you If you know lonely you know what lonely does Strips your peaches from the tree of love Hands you a letter you read until dawn Lassos your rabbit to the foot of a storm I feel the rain I feel it falling blue But in Rio Conception all the rain falls new Washes the fools gold, cleanses to the heart Has weathermen predicting there’ll be brand new start, brand new start well Samson chose Delilah now he’s a crew cut rambling man Ahab chose his whale Now he’s peglegging far from land I hope I made a better choice its true Every face on my dice was choosing you Rocket away you darkest stars There’s a new morning in my eye To Rio Conception we’ll go two by two You’ll love me and I’ll love you I feel the rain , I feel it falling blue But it Rio Conception all the rain falls new We’ll dip our heels and heal our souls And under kinder skies we might grow old
MorrisrownSal Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Hey FB. Thanks man. My soul gets healed when I hear someone inpired by their Gibby share it. (Music Dont Open) means I know where to go first and foremost on the forum. Nice man.
AnneS Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 (Music Dont Open) means I know where to go first and foremost on the forum. Yep- hope the work around sticks, as this is the best way to "discuss" such things as how our guitars sound and what music they inspire. Nice new tune, FB- you and yours sound good, and I like the lyrics alot. For me, sometimes it seems as if songs are lurking in the guitar until, like a bottle on the shore, a genie pops out when you touch it just so. This one feels like it arrived that way, too. Welcome home...
duluthdan Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Gnarly good song dude ! Love that bluesy sound you coax outta that 45.
aerohead Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Thanks for that FB. Don't know if you heard me clapping at the end of that tune but I was! I'm like you Sal and now go straight to the " music don't open" threads. Don't quite get that line yet. Is that a new forum rule? Does it cost that much precious time to open up the thread and just move on if you have no interest in it? Lol.
flatbaroque Posted May 3, 2014 Author Posted May 3, 2014 Thank you Sal.I wouldn't be posting unless you did probably. Cheers Anne.I've had this song hanging round for ages but with a completely different set of lyrics. This morning we had the coldest day in Sydney for a long while so It was a good day for staying home and mucking around with songs. I decided to relook at this song from a different direction and it came together in a couple of hours with a bridge/ chorus added to make it a little more than a straightish blues feel. Thanks Dan. I wrote this on the LG-2 and recorded it as well.I thought I'd give it a go on the j-45 too. That take sounded better so I posted the J-45.It's hard to beat.I've been trying to resist a J-200 that's on our local E-bay at the moment.Recording with the J-45 helps that cause. Aero good of ya to comment kind sir.The "music don't open' is just a little bit of fun invented by Sal stemming from previous discussions about music threads in the main forum. So far it seems to be working
blindboygrunt Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 I resisted opening the thread as per instructed for a couple of days , but the will is weak. Great stuff FB. Good to see ya back in town. Your lyrics are excellent as usual.
