american cheez Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 ok, this might be a dumb question, but i'm gonna ask it anyhow. i have this cool inlay on the 12 fret of my lp. will the letters fade or blur from my awesome vibrato, over time? it occurred to me the other day, while i was wailing away, how much that would just suck.
Kaiser Bill Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 I seriously doubt it. Have your fret markers blurred or faded??
rwfelton Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 will the inlays affect the value in any way in 30 years or so?
Guest Farnsbarns Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 will the inlays affect the value in any way in 30 years or so? No.
rwfelton Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 No. i was wondering because i remember reading reviews stating how it is possible for these to be sought after in 30 plus years... i figured that was just the authors' opinions.... i can't see why they wouldn't though... just like anything. they are only going to be worth what someone is willing to pay for them. just like the value of my sg. it is over 30 years old. cost about $700 bucks then but the same year model sells for almost double that now.
capmaster Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 Thirty years from now they probably will release guitars featuring 150th Anniversary inlays, so the 120th Anniversary ones will be obsolete.

Hey Kuma, I don't think the inlay marker will fade. If it does, you've got one mean vibrato. I love the marker on my Traditional as well. BEAUTIFUL guitars! Take Care Man. MississippiBlue

american cheez Posted May 26, 2014 Author Posted May 26, 2014 well, while my vibrato is unique in its way, it's rare that it's described in positive terms. hahahahaha
