brantobrien Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Just saw this on Guitar Center's website. Totally shocked to see that they are doing this, but I am TOTALLY stoked to see it! There doesn't appear to be any information or official announcement anywhere, but I know that the other 3-4 people out there that are totally into their 225's will be excited with me http://www.guitarcenter.com/Gibson-1959-ES-225-Historic-Semi-Hollow-Electric-Guitar-110179066-i3693341.gc
powerwagonjohn Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 I have a 1956 Es-225 and really like the guitar a lot. Although I had heard something about these being re-issued, I am surprised too as I didn't think there was that much of a market for this kind of guitar especially at that price. The price of the old ones have gone up a bit but you can still find an old one at a fair price. I know I paid $1500.00 for mine in near perfect condition. It should be interesting to try one of these out and compare with my original. Thanks John
SteveFord Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I had one of those years ago and it was a nice enough guitar but I only paid $400 for it. An old girlfriend got it and I got to not know her anymore so it all worked out for the best.
