Hi can anyone help me out. I have a lp futura and just got a new mxr joe bonamassa fet driver. I have a hughes and kettner 2 channel head. Should I use the clean r dirty channel for this pedal? How about a heavy distortion pedal? I'm having a hard time getting the right sound. Thanks for any help.

folks are gonna need to more to go on, in order to give you a proper answer.

it kinda depends on what you're after. what kinda music do you play? what's you're style? playing alot of single note runs, mostly chords, or a mixture of both? what guitar players do you wanna emulate? what guitar/pick up combo are you using? rocking the living room or the garage? the pub?

I am a beginner and just play at home and I am quite new to all of this. I guess I want to know should I use the celan channel for distortion pedal? I play metal and some blues like bonamassa. Thanks

I am no expert but try it out on both channels. Turn the gain down on your amp(both channels), then mess around with your MXR. If the MXR isnt enough, then increase the gain on your amp. If it gets too noisy back it off till your happy. I have Marshall amps, they have a ton of gain, so really it makes no sense to use one of these. But they are nice for the extra boost for leads.

agreed. there is no hard and fast rule to FX use. do what sounds good. Mix and match. let it rip!
