Poll for Gibson signature guitar reissues

Beside me liking to see Gibson reissure the Iommi SG, I'd also like to see this one made as an Iommi Signature SG.

the 1965 SG Special aka "Monkey SG" that Tony used in the early days.

When I met Tony and he say my copy he had made mention that Gibson and him were in talks about making this model but I found out that nothing is in the work even though it has been talked about.

How about they do a reissue (I guess it wouldn't really be a reissue because it wasn't a production model' date=' but oh well) of Eric Clapton's '61 SG with the Fool artwork. If you don't know what it is, look at my avatar. I think that would be very nice.[/quote']

They do have a fool sg (Might be an edwards model..) but that might be something to put on the other forum for a new signature guitar.

I spoke to Tony last week and I' m gonna talk to him some more tonight after the metal Master show.

Anyway, last week Tony mentioned to me that the Custom Shop is going ahead with this model.

I sure hope so !!

The John Sykes Les Paul Custom all the way!! One run of 100 in '06 just isn't going to cut it. But please forget the "aged" model, as it's too $%#@#$@ expensive!! All we need is the VOS (BEFORE wear & tear). Or best yet, a glossy finished model of a '78 Custom reissue with all of John's modifications present. Easier for the Custom shop to reproduce & less $$ for the consumer. I would bet these would sell like hotcakes.

Who all agrees with me that a Gibson Michael Schenker Flying V would be (and should've been ages ago) sweet? For example, a reissue of the black & white one he used circa '80 & '81?? I own one of the Dean signature models, but that was newly designed by them and wouldn't hold a candle to a Gibson reissue of the V's Schenker used in his glory days with UFO & early MSG. I think it's a real shame that this never happened.

This is for artists not inspired by correct ?

The white one is the Alex Lifeson ES-355 " inspired by "

I still think the volute is not right on the Alex ES-355/

Maybe it is just my thumb ?

my opinion hasn't changed since posting this last week:

no, but to expand upon this a little bit...

the prevailing response of everyone here and in Memphis that i have talked to about this over the last several weeks has been "we are building the guitar to a set of specs that Alex approved."

My feeling is that, at this point, that's all the response i'm going to get.

Sorry i wasn't able to get any further info for you.

Silly me , and I thought it was just a plain old F/u on gibsons fault .

Just a poll I thought i'd do. If there is anything you want me to add' date=' I have ONE more space left. Happy voting.[/quote']

What about the Slash Custom Shop, the one with the snake inlay on the fingerboard!!!

Very surprised.... no one is picking the 90's models....

Well I'm with: 90's Jimmy Page Signature Les Paul, BTW I'm chasing a 1999 JP LP!!!

Rock On,
