I just have 2 quitars with a name they share. I call my 2 Blueshawks the Evil Twins. One is red and one is black, separately they nice guitars but put them together and they are evil.

My sister names all my gear (as well as her belongings. i think its too sentimental) because she cant remember model names and it makes conversing about music easier. I have Keeley, Francesca, Lucy, Blackie and Tango

The Epi Casino I am working on is Maxine (for a delta madam that would own a pearl handled revolver willed to her by a pimp named Charles).

My Ebony Gibby Blueshawk is Mr Mojo.

The others? well, they are the others................

My Les Paul Standard is "Boris" (thats a surprise huh ?)

and my Les Paul Special is "Bela"

I know its silly. I think I get this from my wife. As someone else mentioned, she has no idea how to refer to them by brand or model. We seem to have names for lots of things around the house.

Only my LP's. And that came about by accident.

When I bought my R0 my daughter was at the 'Everything Must Have a Name' stage - about 4? - and she wanted to name it "Shere Khan" after the tiger in Kipling's 'The Jungle Book'.

I said I thought that was too regal a name and could she think of something more 'Normal'.

We were having breakfast at the time and she likened the top of the R0 to the contents of the pot of marmalade she was busy emptying over her toast..........

'Marmalade' she has been ever since.

The next LP I bought "needed" (apparently) a name, too.

We kept the naming in the breakfast condiment mood and, as she was finished in Vintage Sunburst, she became 'Treacle'.

The Honey Sunburst? I bet you are ahead of me already.

Finally the HCSB was called 'Jam'.

I can hardly believe there are members who have yet to see my snaps but, if there are any newbies, here they are (yet again) in post #3 and post #50 (better snaps).

My ES335 is called Big Red (aren't they all?) I stole the name off Alvin Lee but have since found out that's what Warren Haynes calls his.

I have always named my cars; this is Blanche (1976 BMW 2002, Chamonix White). My daily driver.

Wow, that is an awesome one. [thumbup] Looks darn fantastic for being thirty-eight years old. [love]

By the way, how often did you have to name a car up to now? [rolleyes][biggrin]

Very very nice indeed; I had 2 BMW Tourers (hatchbacks) one after the other in the 80s - the 1st was a maroon 2002 Touring, a fantastic car.

After that I got a left hand drive 1802 Touring in white like your one, which was again a wonderful machine; accelerate and the back goes down - boy do they go like s**t off a shovel - I would have loved to own a 2002 Tii, the fuel-injected one.

In those days I could do all the basic maintenance on them, changed starter motors etc. They still come up for restoration on eBay but need love and a bit of money.

Great for gear; I got an entire jazz trio including 2 amps and an upright bass in mine regularly!! But I drove the white one into the ground...and these days I stick to the limit.

God those things were fantastic....I got hassled from time to time by boy racers who didn't like seeing German machinery on English roads. And the badges got nicked by Beastie Boy fanboy idiots.

Beautiful car!

Hello!

The LP Classic Custom is "Simona".

The Goldtop is "Athene".

The Recording is "Brigitta".

The L6-S is "Hilda".

All were named according to the name-days of the date they were stamped with the serial number.

The Tele is named "TeleBuster" - no built date available, so I named it after it's brutal heavy-metal sound character.

Cheers... Bence
