Windmills Optional Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Interesting story about George, a fellow musician lending a helping hand and a guitar: http://www.chicagotr...0,2141456.story
Brytam Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Great story. Amazing a $500 guitar can go for that much! All where its been & who had it in their hands. That guitar has quite a legacy. Thanks for sharing...
Kaiser Bill Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Great story indeed. There is a sister of Harrison's that lives not too far from where I live in Florida. She was recently interviewed by the local paper when the 50th anniversary of the Ed Sullivan show was being celebrated. She mentioned his trip to Illinois in her interview. On another note, I played a battle of the bands in Seattle in '67, and got to play through the same amp that Lennon used when they were there on tour. That and $2.50 will get me a cup of coffee.
Dub-T-123 Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 $500 doesn't seem very cheap for a 425 in the '60s I bet they were much more expensive in the UK though
Dennis G Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 $500 doesn't seem very cheap for a 425 in the '60 A little internet search shows that $500 in 1960 is just a hair under $4K today (USD).
