ponty Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 My J-45s celebrate 21 years this summer. Prior to getting these guitars 1n 93, I had bought and sold many looking for 'the sound' I found what I was looking for in the J-45. At one point I had three. I find it so versatile. I also Have a M36 and 000-28(EC type). They get little play these day.
j45nick Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Nice looking pair! I love blondes and brunettes.......

E-minor7 Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Something very peaceful about these two - as if they know they have made and will continue to make sense in this world. Congratulation to them both. .
Pittgibson45 Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Very cool. If you cant't choose between natural and sunburst, then get them both.
PickitPaul Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 Which one has the thumpier bass? Deeper of the two? I have a '91 SJ45 that is a Southern Jumbo mahogany, and the bass is very deep thumpy while keeping the mids and highs clear. Nice pair like how the natural top turned nice amber. did you get them brand new?
BluesKing777 Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 Very nice! As early 'Ren Era' for want of a better word, how is the guitar health? Travelling OK? What will we expect with the mid - late 2000 models is what I'm getting at. BluesKing777.

The AN version had a fret replacement about 5 years ago. The SB version has a small upper bout area of 'dishing'.Other than that, I expect another 21 + 21 years from these two.

Just normal wear and tear then. BluesKing777.
zombywoof Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 Many of us are playing Gibsons 70+ years old every day. They have proven their ability to take a lickin' and keep on tickin'. I would say Bozeman guitars have the same kind of build quality so you would expect nothing less from them.
