terencecambridge Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 I am hoping to identify the guitar played by the Dutch country singer Ilse Delange in the Eurovision song contest just finished. She is reported as saying it was a 1904 Gibson, but I am hoping someone on this forum can provide more detail as I am not familiar with the mysteries of vintage Gibsons. Thanks in advance for any help.
tpbiii Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 I could not see it too well, but it looks like an L-1.
terencecambridge Posted May 12, 2014 Author Posted May 12, 2014 Thanks. Better view here: http://instagram.com/p/ngKIGsAKgu/embed/#
goaty76 Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Yes, with the slotted headstock it is from the 1904-1907 (+/- 1) period. Prior to that period they were paddle headstocks and post they were the solid design we are now accustomed to. Phil
dickie Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Another PIC here. http://www.songfestival.nl/in-the-greenroom/nieuws/nieuws-detail/feliciteer-the-common-linnets-met-hun-tweede-plek/ They had a good song by Eurovision standards. I had a twenty pound bet on them to win. They came 2nd... story of my life :)
