surfpup
Good news for the Gretsch. I used it last night for all three sets and it was great. Lowering the pickups (mostly the bass side) made a tremendous difference. I was able to use my normal amp settings on my old Princeton Reverb and still have plenty of treble and twang. The Filtertrons have a great mid crunch that you just don't get from a Strat - and different from a humbucker. A few guitar buddies were there and they raved about how good it sounded, so I guess the Gretsch is here to stay! However, I'd definitely suggest anyone getting one of these spend some time on pickup height. Setting them like you would a normal humbucker or P90 will result in a very bassy sound.
