Dominik6280 Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Hello, Sorry, I do not speak English, and this text is translated by google ... ;-) Do you tell me what is the model of my Gibson Les Paul? I know it is 1996 but nothing else .... There is a argus for the value of these guitars? Thank you for your help ...
deeman Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 I'd guess it would be a studio. Not much value, perhaps $500-600. If it has the hard case it may be worth a tad more with it. Nice looking guitar by the way! Love it.
BigKahune Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 . Yes, some type of Studio. Unless it was modded, someone might know specifically which type by the pups and knobs (possibly a special retailer run). .
Dominik6280 Posted May 16, 2014 Author Posted May 16, 2014 Wow .... quick answers! thank you .... The price is higher in europe or usa?
deeman Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 You can try searching on locally or EBay for Les Paul studios for sale and see what the average price is.
capmaster Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Hello Dominik, and welcome here. Your Les Paul Studio looks very nice. Can't provide any additional indeep information. There is just one odd thing though - it seems to have an Epiphone toggle switch washer. The RHYTHM/TREBLE hotstamp looks different from the one typically used by Gibson. The original Gibson ones are offered as spare parts. Despite of that, there's no doubt that your guitar is a legit Gibson. It also looks as if it had an ebony fretboard. These are very scarce nowadays, most of the upper class Les Paul guitars come with synthetique Richlite fingerboards now. In case this is an ebony fretboard indeed, it could make someone looking for that feature pay some more. If it plays and sounds like it looks, it surely should be a keeper...
american cheez Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 looks like a darn fine guitar. certainly worth more in europe, than america. with the ebony board and the original hard case, i would put the value at about $700-800 here in ontario. however, the market locally might be different for you. and probably is.
Dominik6280 Posted May 17, 2014 Author Posted May 17, 2014 Ebony handle? ... It would be good news for me! How can I be sure? .... Thank you all for your answers, you are really effective! ...
BigKahune Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 . You could email Gibson at service@gibson.com with the serial number and a pic (2mb limit) and ask what they have on record for that serial number. They should be able to tell you what you have - model, hardware, and possibly ebony fretboard etc. Ebony - dyed black (very dark), closed grain smooth surface Rosewood - open grain, shown in the usual color Rosewood - this one is aged, dark and dirty, but the open grain shows
Dominik6280 Posted May 21, 2014 Author Posted May 21, 2014 Hello everyone! Here is the answer according to Gibson No. guitar ... Do you think it a good value? "Dear Mr/Ms Bossis, Thank you for sending the pictures. The serial number of this guitar links in our database to a Les Paul Studio Lite in Vintage Sunburst finish with Gold hardware, made in Nashville, Tennessee in 1996. Please find information from our archive to this model attached to this emai" Here are photos attached with their response
rct Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 It's a good value to you if you like how it plays and feels, and it was hopefully well priced. They weren't all real popular or anything, "chromyte" is marketing language for "balsa", and guitar players didn't like that much. Good luck with it and enjoy it long time in good health! rct
