markwillplay Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Strange that even though I play professionally, my kids have stayed away from singing. I finally got them to mess with a couple of tunes they have grown up listening to. Couple CSNY tunes. Our pitch isn't perfect by any means and they may appear to be a bit disinterested. But they are actually loving learning harmonies. Cool. next I will make sure I have the Gibson on board. The 12 fret is so handy.
Drog Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Nice! Great to see a family jamming together. Maybe get the kids a tambourine and shaker, would give them more to do and a nice bit of percussion for you. The harmonies sound great. Keep it up!
B1ues Boy Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 What guitar are you playing.....nice I love 12 frets
BigKahune Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 . Nice job with your daughters. You got them going on very well. And that's a nice little slot-head. That second link wasn't working for me, but I got H.Hoping off your channel. Great stuff. . B) .
MissouriPicker Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Yep, I enjoyed hearing those also. Really cool to hear music with families. Family, be it big or small is what this life thing is all about.
j45nick Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Really enjoyed that, Mark! That harmonies in that song aren't easy to do live. If you listen to live recordings of it by CS&N, you'll find they struggle with them in a live setting as well. The studio is a wonderful thing......
onewilyfool Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Great! Girls were wonderful in harmony!! I see singing gene doesn't skip a generation!!
MorrisrownSal Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 1) Your voices are golden. 2) I love when your daughter's yawns start the party :) 3) I finally figured out that they were getting the lyrics from their phones; I thought they were texting friends (OMG I cant believe he is making us do this) Thanks for sharing this. Big smiles.
markwillplay Posted May 19, 2014 Author Posted May 19, 2014 yea, thanks. They just started to sing harmonies last week. they have been listening for a lifetime but I could never get them to sing with me until recently. They are not as disinterested as the appear. They are unsure of their parts and are actually concentrating. That is a recording king slot head (ROS 626) that I had a new pyramid bridge made for (to make intonation spot on). It sounded so good that it was worth doing. I play that guitar a lot. fixed the link now
B1ues Boy Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Very nice sounding I've been looking at a ROS 627 Rosewood and your girls are very good buy them a Mandolin and a Acoustic Bass and hit the road
fortyearspickn Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Wow. Great. You're lucky your daughters are willing to start up music so young. You all three blend really well together. Natural talent!
markwillplay Posted May 20, 2014 Author Posted May 20, 2014 here is that recording king. It is an absolute monster. I know the clips distort but I got a good distance away. Phone mic just sucks...but you can hear this thing growl.Fat. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suWq5yBM4-o
