bluzturk Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 I have a sunburst Wilshire and the serial number is 0165646 does anyone know where this was made and the year? It's a bolt on neck with two chrome humbuckers. It has the mother of pearl inlay on the headstock. Thanks, Mark (bluzturk)

They can at least point you in the right direction. Are there any letters in front of the number, and where is the number located? That might help with other more knowledgeable members here. http://www.epiphone.com/Support.aspx
charlie brown Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Hi Mark, Does it have a "bolt on" neck? If so, and by the headstock shape, it's probably Japanese. 1970-1980. You can try: http://www.guitardaterproject.org/ But, serial numbers aren't always accurate, or even supported by this site, on (some) Asian made guitars. However, it's worth a try, and a place to start. Update, I just tried the Guitar Dater sight, for you...that serial number is not recognized. And, they now state they don't support 1970-1980 Japanese made Epiphone serial numbers. So...??? You'll have to look elsewhere. Sorry!! Try here: http://epiphonewiki.com/index.php/ET-Series Good Luck! CB
