Twang Gang Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 So let's hear what everyone thinks of the new "Southern Rock Tribute" LP. Specifically the "reverse burst" finish. Personally I think the cherry one is OK, but the other color didn't look good to me. Says they start at $6250 or so - wonder what they want for one of the first 50 that are signed by the stars? Crazy, but people must buy them because they keep coming up with reason to release them.
Riffster Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 It is a historic spec 59, it may be overpriced to some but these are fine guitars. No, I will not buy one but it will not bother me one bit if somebody does buy it.
surfpup Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 I'd take it as a freebie. If you put that thing in the sun long enough that red should fade right out.
rct Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Same offer for the Betts LP that he never took me up on: Mr. Betts, bring it to my house personally and have dinner, I'll give you 2 thousand over your cost. rct
Karloff Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 The "heart" doesn't do it for me yea, whats up with that ? why stick that heart on it
Bender 4 Life Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 are there any Southern Rockers still alive and able to sign guitars???
Jimi Mac Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 fugliest thing I've seen in a while. not for me. As much as all Gibson Les Pauls are the Holy Grail to me now, I gotta admit I'm with ya on this! He dude, it seems we ain't too far apart in locale...
rct Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 I'll see Dickie in August, haven't seen him in years and hope to spend a little quality time. He's still kickin. Coughin. Limpin. All that. rct
Riffster Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 I saw Dickie Betts on BB Kings 80th birthday tour and later with Great Southern and he still rocks it.
