jimmi accardi Posted May 23, 2014 Share Posted May 23, 2014 It's time to replace the tuning pegs. The stock ones slip and are just generally cheap. My Casino is a 2010 MIC standard model. Anyone know what are good replacement tuners that would basically drop into my guitar? If you are looking for a drop in replacement that holds the tuning , you may want to consider these. Goto is a reliable and respected tuner. I posted some pics of my black MIK on this older thread. Spamonkis Posted May 28, 2014 Share Posted May 28, 2014 What you are looking for is the Grover vintage deluxe 136 series. You can get them on ebay for about $40 as I recall. The stock Epi tuners on the Casino are copies of these, so they look and fit exactly like what you had, but they say "Grover" on them and are the real thing (Quality). The Grover vintage deluxe 136 series will fit right in? I don't know if there is a difference between the MIK and MIC versions as far as drop in replacement sizes. It is usually a poorly cut Nut, especially plastic ones! I'd (first) have a bone nut, installed, and properly cut, for the string guage you use most. Make sure it doesn't "ping" or "tug" when you tune the string. If so, have the luther widen the slots, a bit. And, always use a lubricant, like graphite (pencil lead), or "nut sauce!" Good Luck!
