hoross Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Besides the coil splitting can someone tell me the difference between the new les paul standard 2014 compared to my lp standard 2008 (model 2011)?
Drog Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 2014 has min-Etune, cyrogenically frozen frets, fret over binding, corian nut, 120th logo on 12th fret, larger strap buttons
capmaster Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 2008 Standard is chambered, 2014 Standard modern weight relieved (wheel spoke pattern). There also are a polarity, often called "phase" option, and a pure bypass of the bridge pickup signal. The coil splits are no pure splits but capacitor tuned ones, once patented by Leo Fender. For some songs these sound better to my taste, for others I prefer the "pure" split of another Standard or other guitars of mine.
ant7629 Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 I think the 2008 had the Neutrik jack if I remember correctly.....
