Tman Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Prodromal: relating to or denoting the period between the appearance of initial symptoms and the full development of disease. GAS: Guitar Acquisition Syndrome. You could argue I already had full blown, ICU dependent GAS. The owner of a true Mom and Pop brick and mortar guitar store in Jacksonville, Arkansas sent me this photo from his archives. We are still friends and I buy whatever I can from him, always. He digitized a bunch of old photos. My parents, who had 6 kids, made me the promise that if I made the honor roll and actually learned how to play the guitar, they would get me "a good one". I'd been playing for 2 years on starter guitars. I, of course, wanted a Gibson. Here is the actual photo of me as a sophomore in high school picking out what would be my axe for years and years. It's the one in my avatar. I picked the black one. Do you have any old photos of when you were at that stage?
NHTom Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 dang........there are some tough decisions there! NHTom

CB CB do you still have that Vox? Man oh Man. Back in 1977 when I was 17 playing my '74 4001 Rick bass (Still have) with a Peavey Bass amp head & speaker cab (Long gone). Those were some good times! Part of my GAS is a 4001. Damn so many instruments to love. Did you guys see all the other Gibby's that were behind me in 76? Some old models there.

We actually had 6 Super Beatle Amps, at one time. 2 Each...All had the closed back "bass" speaker cabinets! The bass player, in our band (the one that took the "1969" polaroid photo, while on leave from the Marine Corps), is still a great friend, and we BOTH cry over selling/trading off the "Beatle" amps! They just sounded awesome...yes, even for Solid State, and looked magnificent, on stage!! CB
