EJ160e - Gig Bag

Does anyone have experience with a quality gig bag for the EJ160e? I didn't realize until I started measuring the guitar how long it is. I guess I may have to go with a 12 string gig bag but the EJ body may be smaller than the standard 12 string.

Any suggestions for a suitable gig bag for the EJ160e will be appreciated.

A Gig Bag and a Hard Case serves two completely different functions.

For 40-something years I've been toting guitars around in hard cases and road cases. For a gig a few years ago I needed to bring a classical along with my L-5 for some Latin music. I have a general rule of "one load" of personal equipment, so I borrowed a gig bag with shoulder straps from a friend for the classical. Classical over the shoulders like a backpack, amp and accessories bag on the rolling luggage cart, L-5 in the other hand..... done!

For lightweight portability, you can't beat a good gig bag. I've since become a great fan and have bought two, an acoustic version, and an electric version. I use these to tote my "doubles" (orchestra term for secondary instruments) around in my car.

Would I put my L-5 in one, NO.... Would I put any guitar in one on a truck, bus or airliner baggage hold, NO.... but they sure are handy around town.

And if you're concerned about the Gibson style angled-back headstock, simply lay the bag down with the guitar on it's face.

wether using a gig bag is easier to cary over your sholdier or not surely a hard case is going to protect the guitar better .id rather my guitar stay safe than look cool over my sholdier .no effence

Thanks for the replies. My comments:

I do have a hardshell case for it and it is indeed sturdy and a safe storage and transport for the guitar. And having paid for an expensive repair to my Casino I am painfully aware of the need to protect the necks of these guitars (Casino was leaning against the couch and just fell over onto to the rug - that's all it took).

But keeping in mind the need to be careful in using a gig bag, as one response stated, there are times when a gig bag can be useful. And for certain situations I thought a quality gig bag would be helpful when I want to take my EJ160e. The guitar is fairly hefty and in the hard case it's pretty heavy. Thought a gig bag would be lighter and I could carry it on my back.

If anyone is using a gig bag for this guitar that they like, let me know.

Thanks.
