erivel
Just wanted to know if I could swap out the Gotoh tuners on my 2007 AJ with Waverly tuners. Is it a proper match or does it require some modification? Thanks!
Eddie Rondack
Posts are the right size, but the screw holes don't match... If it's any consolation, my Gotohs have worked just fine for several years... completely satisfied with their performance.
Sitric
I've posted on this topic before, so I thought it best to let you know how I got on. As some of you might remember I changed my Gotohs for Waverlys a year ago. I remarked at the time that I thought the sound of the guitar had changed- despite the obvious superiority of the Waverly's as tuners. A poster said it was was probably due to the different rake angle coming from nut to tuner. Well, I've given it a year, and I felt that too much of the original character/sound of my AJ was lost for me to continue with the Waverlys (Much as I like them). So back to the Gotohs - and an immediate improvement/return. As I say, this is not a criticism of Waverly's - they are great tuners, and I really wish I could have kept them on - it's just that they didin't suit the sound of my AJ.
