Mattes Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Hello guys, i am from germany and i am in contact with a man who sells a Gibson J45 Brad Paisley. He bought it in 2011 in a german guitar store. Here is the link: http://kleinanzeigen.ebay.de/anzeigen/s-anzeige/gibson-j-45-brad-paisley-signature-model/187897351-74-3110?ref=search If you have a closer look to the pictures ( picture No# 5 ) you´ll notice that the Pickup is a "Fishman Ellipse Blend" If you now have a look at the Gibson-Homepage you will find a different type of Pickup in the specs. Its called "Fishman Ellipse Aura" Here is the link: http://www2.gibson.com/Products/Acoustic-Instruments/Round-Shoulder/Gibson-Acoustic/Brad-Paisley-J-45/Specs.aspx Why have the guitar from the german seller a different kind of PU ? The seller told me that he didnt noticed it because he only plays it at home acousticly. Hope you can help me out. Thanks in advance Mattes
zombywoof Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Wasn't that Ellipse Blend system discontinued? The one in the pic though does looks like the Ellipse Matrix Blend.
MissouriPicker Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 The "blend" system may have been what they put in a few Paisley J45s before they quit production of the pickups. That's just a suggestion.....I also have read that Peter Towneshend of The Who had some put in a group of J200s that he owned. I know I read that somewhere. Here's a short discussion I found on The AGF about these two pickups. Hope I'm not making the issue more confusing for you. http://www.acousticguitarforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=193664
