NGD - 2007 Gibson SG '61 Reissue GOTW 35

Hey everybody! First post and new here as I just picked up my 2007 '61 Reissue SG. It was Number 35 of the Gibson Guitar of the Week in 2007. It's number 165 of 400 made. Antique Satin Walnut finish. '57 Classic and '57 Classic Plus pickups. I like the aged looking binding and the slightly yellowed leaf and logo on the headstock. Gives the guitar a slight vintage look. The satin finish looks wildly different depending on the light hitting it. And thanks to everyone here for being a great resource when researching different SG's. Think I might have the SG GAS now.

Congrats, HNGD, and welcome here! [thumbup]

Looks like an incredibly nice catch. Hopefully it's nice enough, or one day you might want to add some more SGs [scared][flapper][biggrin]

All kidding aside, SGs can be addictive like other great guitars, too... [rolleyes]

Have fun! :)

well Charlie that is the sad truth, especially when your not rich. that is a nice S-G. are those horns beveled or is it the light?

Yeah, the '61's have tapered horns, as did the original version.

Those tapered horns, and wider/deeper beveling, got me BACK, into

SG's after a 40 year hiatus. Some folks don't care, one way or

the other, about those things. But, I Love 'em!! I'm just hoping, this

is a permanent change, back to the original early '60's specs. IMHO,

without those, they look like cost-cutting "kock off's!" [tongue]

But, that's just Me! [biggrin]
