vkh
Hi all, Long time player, new inspired by John Lennon Casino owner. (Sunburst) This is my third Casino, the first developed problems, the second I had to sell for money reasons. Lets hope the third time is the charm. This is the nicest of the three, I hope I have this one forever. Now for the questions, I only have two at the moment. 1. Do I need to register this guitar? I didn't see anywhere on the site to do so. 2. How can I get the distorted sound from the Beatles song "Revolution"? I'm guessing a pedal but which one? Thanks! Scott Marlowe
Revolution sounds a lot like a fuzzface to me. Do some looking around for that on youtube and see what you can find. As for registering, here's the link: Warranty Registration

Scott Marlowe
You're welcome, and nice guitar! We both have P-90s! The only other guitar I kinda want right now is a Wildkat.

Versatile
Hi and welcome to the forums... The Casino has a central and fascinating place in the pantheon of classic 60's and beyond popular and rock music IMO... The Beatles' and their producers/engineers' genius continues to become evident as information regarding how they recorded specific songs is made known... Just an aside...the Casino is a close relative of the Gibson ES330...back in the 60's they were each made on the same production line to almost identical specs...badged accordingly.. The depth of guitar knowledge on this board never ceases to amaze me.

vkh
Thanks for all the replies. I read about them plugging into the board somewhere. It'd be nice if I had a setup like that. I'm gonna play w/the settings on my amp and see how that works. Scott, that's a Gibby in your avatar pic, right? An SG w/P-90s is on my bucket list. tweed2
I think that the bottom line to getting that sound is tubes. If you had a low volume tube amp, and a tube pre-amp or overdrive (in series), you can get pretty freakin' close. I used to have a Hughes & Kettner Tube overdrive that I used as my pre-amp, then ran it into my tube Deluxe, and got real close to the Revolution sound. Certainly much closer than you could get with modelling amps or solid state. That was with stock Epi pickups in my Casino. I have Lollars in it now. These days I use an old school Vox AC4 as the pre-amp, into the same Deluxe. Nails it.

It's the Eppy version, but yeah, SG with P-90s and I used to play a Gibson SG with P-90s and honestly, it feels pretty much the same to me. vkh
I made some progress! I have a Vox Pathfinder 15R and I pressed the "boost" switch. I usually play "clean" so I'd never used this. I still need to play with the gain a bit but it was pretty close. Man, I LOVE this guitar! Scott, I have never seen an Epi SG in TV yellow w/P-90s. Was this a special run? Again, I really appreciate all the replies. This seems like a nice place w/a bunch of good people.
