1958 Gibson Les Paul Jr. VOS

Hey folks..... I just had to share this.....I recently found at the local music store, grabbed hold of, purchased and walked out with a custom shop 1958 Les Paul Jr VOS double cut....I believe it's from 2008. I actually had no idea what it was when I got it. I've been looking for a double cut Les Paul Jr. for a couple of years now and had frustratingly found that these guitars are fairly desirable, and as a result, are hard to find and aquire....I just happened to stumble across this guitar within an hour of it hitting the floor lol. Some fool put it on layaway and never showed up to pick it up, so I snagged it. Anyway, she's got a fat, FAT, fat neck .....oh yes, did I mention the neck is FAT!!! Lol. Wow it's big but feels amazing, and the p-90 absolutely growls. I've since retired my tele as the quality, craftsmanship and tone of this guitar makes the tele seem like a toy.

Anyway, I don't need to sing the praises of the junior too much cause I'm sure most on here know the magic these guitars possess. I was curious....this custom shop VOS guitar seem pretty amazing...did I just happen to get a good one, or is the Gibson Custom Shop just that good? Does anyone else have one of these? What are your thoughts? Are they as rare as they seem or does everyone seem to just get them and hang onto them? (Double cut Les Paul Jr's that is) I live in Toronto Canada, and very rarely does a LP Jr. of any kind ever pop up for sale.....

Oh yes....I picked this one up for $1100....I think that's a fair price considering they were about $2500 new....and it's my first Gibson too :D

Would like to congratulate you on your nice buy, but there's a forum rule to be obeyed: Pictures, or it didn't happen! [biggrin]

Reading your lines makes me think they have put a real '58 size neck on your guitar. That's about true VOS I believe. [thumbup]

Awaiting your pictures... [love]

That's a great price. They are kind of hard to find and guys are generally asking $1500 to $1900. In 2012 I played a new single-cut TV Yellow one in GC, they were asking $2400. I had not bought a new guitar in a few years and could not justify the price. I ended up buying an SG Classic instead for $1000 which was very close in sound and turned out to be a great guitar. I did want two pups instead of one. But, I could not forget that LP Jr. It was just a touch sweeter sounding. 5 or 6 new Gibsons later, I am waiting on a used single-cut LP Special in TV White, $1750 with shipping.

Pics!!!
