Aster1
Hi Ya'll, Just got back on Monday from our RV trip. 3200 miles out past Milo-land and into WY/MT. What a long strange trip it's been!! The two dogs did pretty well overall. Too much moving & setting up with the 5th Wheel trailer however. For that many destinations it needed to have been 6 weeks and stayed a week at each one. We had some bad electric storms back in IA and when I arrived home clients were in a panic to get all their gear repaired/replaced. This time the all took my suggestion to allow us to install some pro gear quality Power Conditioners/Surge protection with the repair. Was 60 miles from the Gibson MT factory but wasn't there on a weekend so didn't try to see the Acoustic factory. I would have just wanted another guitar if I went I guess so it may have been for the best. Hope everyone's been alright and those that were ailing healed or healing since I left. Aster1
Did you see Devil's Tower? Have any close encounters? We had a few close encounters (with D.Head drivers that is) but no Devil's Tower this run. It is a great place to visit for certain. That route takes you thru the Big Horn Mnt. range and we were going the southern route to Tetons & then Yellowstone. Also, I have a Ram w/ Hemi gasser and really need a Diesel w/dually's to pull UP the Big Horns cuz our 5th wheel is 10,000 lbs loaded. Going down is easy enough (still better w/ Diesel & a Jake Brake). My Rambo will do it okay but your pulling up grade at 40 mph max in spots. Love those Big Horns to see & camp in however. We had a rock slide across a canyon hwy just mins. before we got there. Fortunately, no one was bashed up, how I don't know!!! You sometime get complacent reading the "watch for falling rocks" or "rock slide area" signs and don't REALLY believe them till you see one across the road and how big a mess they would make of ya. Aster1
Glad y'all made it back safe & sound Aster! hope ya had lots of fun! Thanks Bender!! It was much fun overall and even with the extra work of our young dog w/ our adult dog was good after we go on the road. How the heck are you doing/feeling now. Has it been about a month since your "close encounter" now? Prayers still with ya and hope you are doing better & better each day. Aster
Aster1
Welcome back here. As always, vacations can't be long enough for pursueing one's interests on far away places. I hope you got the gear of your clients running again or replaced. Thanks Cappy! Trips are such a great way to recharge the old batteries (too bad I didn't have my Harley's on the battery tenders the 2 weeks before we left). Came back to 2 dead batteries when I went to go for a Bday ride last week!! Dang only one came back up again, will try my battery charger/rejuvenator tonight to try to finish this year w/o the Hundy it will cost to replace. Back today & this week to finish all the damage repairs. What a storm can do to gear w/o protection is sure costly. The ins. deductibles are often $8k-$10k on most of these homes we work on. The gear would have only been $2k to have had in place. Oh well, I did my part to impress on the clients that they needed this. Glad, a few years ago, I started having them autograph that they DID NOT ELECT to take my advice. Avoids MUCH hard feeling if they don't remember that part.
