Haha.. that's pretty cool :)

This past Saturday (September 6) an event called Guitars On The Beach took place in Lyme Regis, UK. For the second year in a row thousands of guitarists gathered on the beach to play together as a massive band. During last year's Guitars On The Beach 2,267 guitarists participated, and this year saw an increase of more than a thousand rockers.

3,325 guitarists were on hand to accompany Deep Purple singer Ian Gillan in a rendition of the band's classic "Smoke On The Water." Gillan, who has been on tour with Deep Purple in the States during the summer took time out of his schedule to take part in the event.

Aside from "Smoke On The Water" the guitarists played Buddy Holly's "Rave On," and "Rockin' All Over The World" by John Fogerty. There was also an advanced setlist containing The Proclaimers' "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)," ZZ Top's "Sharp Dressed Man," The Zutons' "Valerie," and Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Sweet Home Alabama."

Organizer Geoff Baker had hoped to beat the world record, which was set in Poland in 2009, when 6,546 guitarists performed alongside Steve Morse. But the event was still a huge success, reportedly raising $10,000 to local charities. Baker is apparently planning on making Guitars On The Beach an annual event, so there will be a new chance to break the world record next year.
