blindboygrunt Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 http://consequenceofsound.net/2014/09/damien-rice-shares-new-single-my-favourite-faded-fantasy-listen/ fabulous new song from damien rice . I know it's not gibson related , but am sure I'm not the only one in here who is very interested in anything new from this guy. here's hoping for another 'O' sounds promising indeed .
62burst Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 'Tend to avoid doing and/or listening to songs lately which serve up that 'devine right to the blues' type-stuff, but fans of masterful percussion will be rewarded for listening in 3 minutes or so. Close-mic'ed & way out front in the mix, the listener really gets a sense of the very tip of the sticks interacting with the hats & the beautiful snare-work.
blindboygrunt Posted September 13, 2014 Author Posted September 13, 2014 devine right to the blues ? what's that mean ? and yes , you're dead right about the percussion .
62burst Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 That was a line from P. Townshend from Slit Skirts. Nothing against Mr. Rice, just a little too convenient to lift a phrase.
zombywoof Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Made it through a few seconds but that was all. Not my cup of tea I guess.
Martin 1940D28 Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Not my cup o'tea for playing. But, I listened several times. Mostly to the back round music, but not the lyrics that closely. Starts out relaxing, and then gets a bit "kind of exciting". Something I don't mind listening to. Just an "opinion" from some one who will never be a "has been". Thanks.
