Gday cobbers..been away for awhile.Just did a trip across Tibet. Was a bit of a challenge for a seaside softie like myself.Got to 5200m at Everest Base camp.I was pretty crook with altitude sickness, one of the symptoms is lack of sleep and nightmares if you can nod off. I have vague recollections of this song featuring sometime in a nightmare.."noone speaks English and everything's broken".

Didn't see a guitar let alone a Gibson for a couple of weeks.Good to be home...at sea level!Thought i'd exorcise the demon with this cover.

Welcome back! I loved this- the song, the guitar, your performance. I felt every moment, and it makes me remember how important it is to be transported once in a while.

Thank you, sir.

Cheers Anne. It's one of my favorite "homesick" songs. And I thought the J-45 looked rather good in the video...showing a few playing wear scratches in the light.Hope you are still enjoying your new one.

This is an awesome song. One of my absolute favourites.

I've mentioned before your tom waits similarities so anything by him is gonna suit you I think.

I've had a stab at this myself and it's an awkward song to play , like most of waits stuff it sounds simple but really isn't.

Thanks BBG.Yea good song.Rod Stewart's version is about an octave higher than Tom's...still sounds good.

I was right up for some Yeti stories but didn't hear much..i was with a couple of Canadians who had Sasqwatch and Bigfoot stories...in Australia we have the Bunyip Man.

I guess in Ireland you have sometime forum poster Hairy Dave [biggrin]

You nailed this song, FB. You've got that "Waits" feel to it. You and the guitar sound splendid, my friend. Very easy-on-the-ears............I suspect you've got a song somewhere that's waiting to be written about your journey.........Good stuff.
