SOVA_2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 I haven't had this 60s Tribute very long and I noticed this the other day. There is a white line between the nut and the bottom of the headstock facing. I think the factory filled in the small space with something and now its coming out. Does anyone know what that is? Is it paint? The nut seems secure and the minetune tunes it ok. Maybe temperature change made the wood move.
BigKahune Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 . Is it possibly a bit of glue got squeezed out from under the nut? And because it's a black nut it shows. I think the factory nut was white corian - maybe they changed the spec. .
SOVA_2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Author Posted September 22, 2014 Maybe glue but it looks like they knew it and then covered it with something black, so I was wondering if that was paint. I guess so. I'll ask Gibson. . Is it possibly a bit of glue got squeezed out from under the nut? And because it's a black nut it shows. I think the factory nut was white corian - maybe they changed the spec. .
BigKahune Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 . My mistake - black corian nut is factory on the new Tributes. Still might be glue. .
