I haven't had this 60s Tribute very long and I noticed this the other day. There is a white line between the nut and the bottom of the headstock facing. I think the factory filled in the small space with something and now its coming out. Does anyone know what that is? Is it paint? The nut seems secure and the minetune tunes it ok. Maybe temperature change made the wood move.

.

Is it possibly a bit of glue got squeezed out from under the nut? And because it's a black nut it shows. I think the factory nut was white corian - maybe they changed the spec.

Maybe glue but it looks like they knew it and then covered it with something black, so I was wondering if that was paint. I guess so. I'll ask Gibson.
