Tim Plains
I just watched American Gangster and had an idea for a thread - how about a thread for movies that feature a LP at some point? Good or bad, it doesn't matter. All Gibsons can be included in this, of course. Around an hour into American Gangster there's a shot of a jazz band and the guitarist has a black Les Paul (Custom, I think?). Another movie that comes to mind is Detroit Rock City. Although I'm not certain there's a shot of Ace's LP at the end...pretty sure though.
OKlunchbox
In "Almost Famous" Billy Crudup's charachter Russel plays an LP, and from what I remember from the special features it is actually him playing in the film. Cameron Crowe brought in Peter Frampton to give him lessons for the flick. If you've never seen it, it's totally worth a view especially when you find out that most of it is drawn from Crowe's real life experience as a submitting writer for Rolling Stone. Also the film "Bound for Glory" about the life of Woody Guthrie features some pretty awesome banner era Gibson acoustics. I about started to cry when some guys beat him up and smashed one. Gibson CS
Toot my own horn? I had a part in Detroit Rock city!.....Please no autographs! :P One of my only must see tv shows is House. He has some sweet guitars on there. He had a nice white flying V, not too long ago.

saturn
I think there was a shot of a LP in the music store scene of Stranger Than Fiction. But Will Ferrel wound up buying a Strat. How about the SG and Flying V in School of Rock!

Gibson CS
Saturn... Kiss played in Toronto in December of 1998...you know, the Psycho Circus tour. A few weeks before the concert the band placed an open casting call to any fans who wanted to be in the movie. It was being shot in Hamilton Ontario ( 45 minutes from Toronto ) They needed fans who looked the part of a mid 1970's Kiss audience. I already had the long hair. I wore a jean jacket and looked stoned ( I wasnt for the record ) I was accepted. You can see me if you look hard enough. Im that tiny dot next to 10,000 other denim clad stoners. It was alot of fun though. I thought I would be up for an Oscar....nope.

I made a point to get tickets the next year when they played Nissan Pavillian in VA because it was all the original members and it was supposed to be their farewell tour. I should have known better but it was still a great show!

The A-Man
I think there was a shot of a LP in the music store scene of Stranger Than Fiction. But Will Ferrel wound up buying a Strat. How about the SG and Flying V in School of Rock! man, stranger than fiction says, and i kid you not, "I'm compencating for something, guess what..." when Will Ferrel checks out the EDS-1275.... i stood up and walked out of the living room when i heard this. and thanks to my little brother, I now know of the teeny-bopper group called the Jonas Brothers who appearently have a "wall of shinny Gibsons," but they fake it on stage with the volume at 0!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GARBAGE.

GuitarJunkie
In "Animal House" the guitarist from "Otis Day and the Nights" is playing a Goldtop Deluxe with mini humbuckers (which is factually incorrect since the movie is set in 1962). Gibsonboy
In "School of rock", Jack Black plays an SG. I don't remember if there is a LP...? :D In "Tenacious D : The Pick Of Destiny", there is this one. It's not a Les Paul but it's a Gibson... :D
