cookieman15061 Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 Well jetting off to Boston today to hang with my little brother and his family. Hopefully we can take an afternoon and tour some guitar shops. Great historical city and always enjoy our visit.
Searcy Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 I thought about moving there once but I couldn't afford it. Cool town.

ZenKen Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 Oddly, or maybe not, the best Thai restaurant ever is in Boston near the Hahvahrd campus. Don't remember the name and it may in fact be gone by now but I dined there about 15 years ago and am still taking antacids.
NHTom Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 If you are up for a ride, head on up to Manchester New Hampshire and check out Manchester Music Mill............great shop with TONS of stuff. NHTom
crust Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 When I was 18, I took the train into Boston every day to attend school. I haven't been there, for a "day ride" or for any other reason, for a few years. I should go for a ride there soon, go to the public gardens and commons for a nice walk
daveinspain Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 If you go to Guitar Center in Boston ask for Rusty tell him Dave in Spain sent you. He's a manager and a great guy... Boston GC is on of the best there is... Mr. Music is another cool guitar shop for used and unique stuff..,
cookieman15061 Posted October 6, 2014 Author Posted October 6, 2014 Went to an apple orchard yesterday and had no idea what a huge deal it is for these New Englanders. The line of cahrs as we left stretched for at least 2 miles and the wait was at least another hour for an apple cider donut. Delicious by the way. Beautiful day with the whole family.

Gibson Artist Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Well jetting off to Boston today to hang with my little brother and his family. Hopefully we can take an afternoon and tour some guitar shops. Great historical city and always enjoy our visit. Rhode island is right next door to mass, if youre ever in little rhodey, the techs at Noll guitars do the best work in the state. They are highly reviewd on yelp and people all over Craigslist recommend them.
milod Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 The only thing I really miss about New England/Boston, etc., is the maple syrup and candy. Last time I was there some 15 years ago this month, we almost didn't get outa town 'cuz of very heavy rain. The first known direct ancestor of mine was born in 1680 in central Mass. The one whose name I still carry was born July 15, 1842, in Washington VT - and left as soon as he could 'cuz it was getting awfully crowded in the late 1850s. <grin> Most of the places I loved around Harvard Square were gone by that last trip out there a few years ago, including the Club 47 on Mt. Auburn Street behind the Coop where the folkies lived. There was a nice "Irish" saloon "behind" Filene's downtown. Dunno if the big store since was renamed Macys or not - or if the saloon remains. m

rocketman Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 I was there last weekend for a wedding. Every time I go there my wife tells me how much she wants to move there. I met up with a couple of former students to watch the Bills game at The Harp, which is the Bills backers car. I thought it was hysterical that the bar was right across the street from the Garden! Great city though. I never miss an opportunity to go there.
